The Front Bottoms in Grand Rapids
When entering a show with The Front Bottoms as headliners, expect to sing, scream, cry, and most importantly, mosh. Since forming in 2006, The Front Bottoms have gathered a loyal following of all ages and music tastes. While the artistry comes from the minds of Brian Sella (vocals/guitar) and Mat Uychich (drums), it isn’t uncommon to see an entire touring band on stage with the New Jersey natives.
The night started off strong with support from Australian rock group, Eliza & the Delusionals, a younger rock group reminiscent of what The Front Bottoms used to be in their early years. Not long after, surrounded by ambient lighting and with an intricate stage design, The Front Bottoms and supporting musicians took the stage for a memorable night in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at GLC Live at 20 Monroe. Talon of the Hawk took over most of the band’s setlist, featuring fan-favorites like “Skeleton” and “Twin Size Mattress”. Their latest album and the tour’s namesake, You Are Who You Hang Out With, was next, followed by Going Grey, before taking on a variety of singles from the band’s almost two decade run.
During this tour, The Front Bottoms brought on Alex Lahey, Eliza & the Delusionals, and Hey Nothing, to support them through their shows. Eliza & the Delusionals will finish with The Front Bottoms on October 26th, before Hey Nothing will take over the remaining dates through December 4th. As if that wasn’t enough, the group will be headlining and joining a slew of punk rock names in Atlantic City, NJ for their own three-day festival called Champagne Jam. There are plenty of chances left to see The Front Bottoms this year! Check out their website for dates.
