The Band CAMINO in Pittsburgh
The Band CAMINO, currently composed of Spencer Stewart, Garrison Burgess, and Jeffery Jordan is taking on their “The Taking Shape” tour with Knox. They have been active since 2016 and have consistently produced banger after banger. It has been a journey to watch them release gut-wrenching indie songs, like “Bernstein” in 2017, to developing a poppier feel for their debut, , self-titled, 2021 album to then and album “The Dark” to then, in 2024, releasing an EP called “Bruises.” This EP feels like it encapsulates all the energy through the different genres they’ve explored over the years. The same could be said with the feel of their setlist and tour.
The show opened up with “Nostalgia,” from their newest EP which is a high energy song that got the crowd moving. Performer, Jeffery Jordan, saw how big the stage was at Stage AE and used that. The crowd in Pittsburgh on Monday, July 22nd was electric and Jordan commented on this later in the show. He mentioned how you can usually feel what day it is based on the vibe of the crowd; however, today it was different.
The Band CAMINO not only performed, but interacted with their fans as well. They had an acoustic section of their set where it was just Jeffery Jordan and Garrison Burgess on the stage. During this intimate part of the show, they said they would take requests. Songs like “Fool of Myself” and “Sorry Mom” were suggested and played. They mentioned that “Sorry Mom” was special since they never played it live and Garrison’s mother was in the crowd. At the end, The Band CAMINO played “Daphne Blue.” I heard that this is a tradition to play this as their last song and something they have done many tours. From the energy of the crowd, it seemed that this was the case. The crowd erupted as the show ended. The Band CAMINO lit up Stage AE with not only a unique performance, but a quality one.
