Sun Room in Grand Rapids
The SoCal-based trio known as Sun Room have been on a strong run of tours for the past three years. Within just six months of the band’s formation, they sold out numerous shows of their own before supporting Louis Tomlinson in North and South America, then Inhaler in Europe. Once returning to the United States, Luke Asgian, Ashton Minnich, and Max Pinamonti went back on their own tour, rejoined Inhaler for a variety of United States shows and then, you guessed it, back to headlining. As if that wasn’t enough, they are now on tour with Dayglow, which is where we were able to catch their support set in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Intersection.
Sun Room brought a surf-rock sounding and California influenced show to fall in West Michigan. Their time on stage focused heavily on their latest EP, Can’t Explain, which features popular singles “Hate It When You Call” and “Get Me Outta New York City”. After experiencing these songs firsthand, it’s no secret why major music outlets like AltPress, Paste, and Consequence have sung their praises for Sun Room. This trio is charismatic and feel-good. Their time on stage really put the energy levels at an all-time high for the rest of the night, but we know that their limited setlist wasn’t enough to show off all they have to offer. Even though Asgian, Minnich, and Pinamonti haven’t had much of a break from shows in the past few years, you’d never expect that from their undeniable love for performing and the connection they share with not just the music, but with one another.
Sun Room will continue to tour with Dayglow through the end of October and will also be playing an assortment of headlining shows along the way! With Can’t Explain officially out in the world, the band plans to focus on releasing their debut album in 2025 and, of course, a lot more touring. Make sure to check out a show if you can!
