Rowan Drake in Grand Rapids
New York-based singer/songwriter, Rowan Drake, is in the midst of a two month run opening for X Ambassadors. The tour made a stop at the Elevation in Grand Rapids, MI on May 22, 2024. Drake began the night sharing a slew of original tracks and even a Mazzy Star cover. Admitting that he was a tad nervous, Drake let the crowd know that this run of shows were some of the first he had ever performed and that this was his first time on tour.
Despite that, Drake commanded the stage as a solo act, singing and playing guitar. Audience members were in awe of and emotionally connected to the young performer and, as we know from our interview with Drake after the show, that is exactly what he hopes his music will do. He shared his upcoming EP, For all my eyes have seen, with the crowd who helped Drake end his set with roaring applause and cheers. Fans flocked to the singer’s merch stand after his set where he signed t-shirts, posters, and met with fans new and old. For such a new artist, it was incredible to see the bond music can have in turning strangers into long-term supporters.
Drake continues touring with X Ambassadors through mid-June of this year. Afterwards he will be sharing his sophomore project, For all my eyes have seen, and (hopefully) booking more shows! Catch a show if you can and be sure to check out our favorite shots from Grand Rapids below!
