Omar Apollo in Toronto
Touring his God Said No album, Omar Apollo’s show left people in awe. As someone who has been a fan for as long as I can remember, watching this show left no doubt that Omar is a star. From the visuals, costume, and choreography, to vocals, the show emulated the feeling of transcending into the heavens.
Omar infuses his art with authenticity and love; his fans return that same passion and support. Throughout the show, he made jokes with the people in the crowd and made time to connect with them. This only enhanced the experience for his fans.
Two of my favourite moments during the show were watching Omar sing “Plane Trees” with Mustafa and “Invincible” with Daniel Caesar. Other than the fact that his voice blended seamlessly with both artists, watching two Canadian Artists perform at Budweiser felt like a full-circle moment. Just by how Daniel and Mustafa interacted with Omar, it was evident that Omar’s artistry connected them all.
Overall, Omar Apollo’s Tour is the epitome of authenticity in artistry and how that reflects in stage performance. He is a gem to be seen.
