Midwest Indie Supergroup Low Phase Releases two New Singles

Article by Mollie Menuck

Indie rock four-piece Low Phase released their newest singles “Winter Clothes” and “Float” this past summer, creating the perfect soundtrack for the changing of the seasons going into September.

The band, which has been playing “Winter Clothes” live for years now, including on their recent tour of the east coast. The song chronicles the feeling of learning to feel comfortable with change through its hopeful and upbeat nature, and embracing that feeling. The band is extremely tight, showing off impressive background vocals, a shredding guitar solo, and finishing off the song strong with a horn solo and piano melody. The song is reminiscent of early 2010s indie rock and is a sound I often miss with most indie bands now.

“Float” on the other hand starts on a more somber note showing off their melodic guitar chops. The song is focused on the trials and tribulations of being in love and that love not meeting your expectations. Lead vocalist Caleb shows off his impressive vocals in this track, especially showing off his beautiful falsetto in the chorus. The song has an incredible built, layering horns yet again, creating and showing off that epic feeling reminiscent “Winter Clothes.”

Low Phase is one to look out for this fall! Coming off their home-state tour the band has no intentions of slowing down.
