Maggie Rogers at Coca COla Coliseum

Simply put, Maggie Rogers (a Maryland native), has proven to be a musical phenomenon. In 2016, Maggie was discovered by producer/artist, Pharrell Williams, while attending NYU. During his visit, she played the early stages of ‘Alaska’ for him. A song that she wrote in about 5 - minutes. She wrote this song after taking a trip to Berlin and experiencing the club culture. The 30-minute video of Pharrell Williams reacting to ‘Alaska’ was posted on the internet, and it changed the course of her life and her creative journey.

On October 22nd Maggie Rogers brought her vibrant energy and artistic gifts to the Coca-Cola Coliseum, creating a night that felt as intimate as her music. The show opened with a breathtaking video montage, that led us straight into her new song, “That’s Where I Am.” The crowd was elated as she took the stage, her bold outfit, confident energy, and moving voice setting the bar for the night.

She had the audience dancing freely to songs like “ Drunk” and “Alaska” and swaying with their loved ones during “So Sick of Dreaming”.

What made the night special wasn’t just the music but how personal and intimate it felt. Between songs, Maggie shared bits of her life. She conversed with the crowd by making jokes with them and sharing some of her own stories. She made the massive arena feel like a gathering of close friends.

My favourite thing about this accomplished artist is her undeniably fun dance moves. Maggie is known for her voice and her ability to combine heartbreaking lyricism with upbeat production, but her dance moves are underestimated. She danced and jumped from one end of the stage to another, all while delivering the most powerful and emotionally in-tune vocals. Her joy was contagious.

By the time she closed with “Don’t Forget Me”, the crowd was on their feet, singing along like it was the last song they’d ever see her. Maggie didn’t just perform; she created a space for love.
