UK based artist Liana Flores brought her “Tour of the Soul” to Chicago’s Lincoln Hall.
The artist, originally known for her ukulele mashup covers on YouTube, began releasing original music in 2018, and finally released her first full length album this year titled Flower of the Soul. The setlist was a healthy mix of songs from Flower of the Soul, staples from her EPs The Water’s Fine! and recently, as well as covers from her biggest folk and bossa nova musical influences.
Throughout the show, backed by an incredible three piece band, Flores was able to show off what makes her such a special artist; showing off incredible vocals, fantastic guitar playing, and storytelling abilities. One of the most memorable moments of the evening was when Flores played her acoustic classic “rises the moon”. During the tune, the fans all put up their “phone torches” illuminating the venue, creating a core memory for the artist. Before the set ended, she even surprised everyone by playing a request from the audience and signing her LPs from fans in the crowd.
Overall, Liana Flores was able to bring her impeccably warm energy to Chicago. It was such an honor to see such a talent all the way from the UK.
