Julia Pratt, a Philadelphia based singer-songwriter opened for Angie McMahon last week at New York’s iconic Bowery Ballroom.

Pratt’s dulcet voice was accompanied by her skill in both guitar and piano. Complemented by her relaxed sense of humor, Pratt set the tone of the evening with a set of melancholic songs (though she teasingly promises that “at least one, maybe two” are upbeat), including the autobiographical “Julia Baby” and Mt. Joy collaboration “A Little Love.” A setlist both wistful and sweet, it showcased Pratt’s strength in songwriting and established the mood.
