Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler in New York

Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler recently brought Brent Forever: The Tour to The Town Hall in New York City and it was a must-see concert for any fan! Although they each have their own established solo careers, the duo are close friends and frequent collaborators who have released three joint projects since meeting at a party in 2016.

The duo had a different artist open nearly every night of their tour, and indie artist Kevin Atwater was the opener for night one at The Town Hall. Kevin performed with just a small assortment of guitars and a witty sense of humor and did a fantastic job kicking off the show.

After a short break between sets, Jeremy, Chelsea, and their band walked on stage. They played a short intro video on a small projector screen before beginning their first song. This was my first time seeing both of these artists live, and their passion for music and ability to connect with their audience was immediately evident. The Brent Forever: The Tour setlist features most of Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler’s joint discography, which comprises of two brent EPs and one album. The intimate theatre venue, homey stage setup, and eight-piece band set an ambient tone for the evening and was reminiscent of tours like Lizzy McAlpine’s The Older Tour. This is the first time that Jeremy and Chelsea have toured together, and their time on this run of shows in ten different cities highlights both their strong friendship and musical chemistry. They interacted with fans throughout the show and made their audience feel right at home with their musical performances. Although Jeremy and Chelsea have stated that putting out brent iii feels like “a nice way to close the page” on their musical journey, I doubt that this album and tour will be the last that we see of this musical duo!
