Girl Named Tom in Bloomington

The winners of the singing competition The Voice from season 21, “Girl Named Tom”, are a sibling band with out of this world harmonies and an inspiring family bond. Bekah Liechty with her brothers Josh Liechty and Caleb Liechty have created have created an amazing career for themselves after The Voice by touring and writing their own music to pursue their most awarded careers.

Girl Named Tom made their first appearance of the “Get a Little Lost” tour on July 19 at Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts in Bloomington, IL. They started the show out with opener Kate Yeager who amazed the crowd. The show was electric and fun and the band made you feel as though you were apart of their family. As a photographer I got to catch some real gems, and getting to know the band was an honor.

This folk band is singing more than just covers now like on The Voice. During this show, they sang lots of original songs, some that aren’t even officially released yet. An original song that was my favorite to be performed was “Get a Little Lost”. The beautiful message and symbolism of this song gives room for the crowd of fans to dedicate the meaning of adventure to the band themselves as they keep pushing through their career. In every song, their harmonies were nothing but perfection. The crowd engaged when the band would settle down during the set to have conversations and transitions into other songs. It was refreshing to see artists be so down to earth. Girl Named Tom are not just sensational singers, but sensational people.

I was stunned by the talent of singer Bekah, Josh, and Caleb Liechty as well as drummer Raven Pfeiffer and guitarist Chris Croce. Girl Named Tom has became the band of the times and there is no stopping their growth through music and the country falling in love with their artistry.
