Fitz And The Tantrums in Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids’ fan favorite, Fitz And The Tantrums, returned to the city once again for another sold out show at the Frederik Meijer Gardens. Fronted by Michael Fitzpatrick, professionally known as Fitz, and backed by Noelle Scaggs, James King, Joseph Karnes, and Jeremy Ruzumna, Fitz And The Tantrums always put on a memorable performance that brings every audience member to their feet.
Even though Fitz And The Tantrums have been a household name for quite some time, their 2013 hit “Out of My Leagure” recently went viral on TikTok and had a huge resurgence in mainstream media. Simultaneously, the pop-outfit interpolated Vitamin C’s 1999 single, “Graduation (Friends Forever)”, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, in their latest release “No Goodbyes (Friends Forever)”. This new track brought an uplifting and modern aura to Vitamin C’s hit and pushed the group higher in global streams.
I personally attended Fitz And The Tantrums last sold out show in Grand Rapids and while it was at the same venue, this year’s crowd seemed much bigger and plenty louder. Fans of all ages were excited to spend a Michigan summer night in the presence of their favorite band. They, of course, played “Out of My League”, along with “Handclap”, “The Walker”, “I Just Wanna Shine”, and many more. Kids sat atop their parents’ shoulders to get a better view over the crowd of dancing fans while some relaxed on the lawn in lawn chairs and on blankets to enjoy the music.
While their support tour with O.A.R. (Of A Revolution) and their headlining shows are over for a few months, Fitz And The Tantrums will be headlining Morongo Casino Resport and Spa (California, U.S.) in October, followed by appearances at Live Out Monterrey 2024 (Mexico) and SEMA Fest 2024 (Nevada, U.S.). If you can’t make it out to one of their remaining dates for 2024, we highly recommend adding Fitz And The Tantrums to your favorite playlist and keep an eye out for announcements in 2025!
