Eliza & the Delusionals in Grand Rapids

Atwood Magazine labeled them dynamic, dazzling, unapologetic, and unrelenting. Rolling Stone Australia noted them to be luscious and vital. When Eliza & the Delusionals made their debut in Grand Rapids, Michigan, supporting The Front Bottoms on their Finding Your Way Home tour, all of these words and many more circled through our minds.

This rock trio – featuring Eliza Klatt (vocals), Kurt Skuse (guitar) and Ruby Lee (bass) – used their set to promote their sophomore album, Make It Feel Like The Garden, which is out now on all streaming platforms for those who couldn’t make it to a show. The beginning concepts of this album began when Eliza & the Delusionals toured through the United States back in 2022. Through catchy hooks, driving rhythms, and introspective lyricism, Make It Feel Like The Garden transports listeners into this group’s immersive world, mimicking a comforting space for anyone who needs it. Skuse describes Make It Feel Like The Garden as, “...more than an album; it’s an invitation to explore our vision of a garden—a place for personal reflection, solace, and inspiration amidst life’s chaos. It’s a journey of the senses and emotions, illustrating the transformative power of music.”

On stage, Eliza & the Delusionals showed off their larger than life talents with connection, charisma, and witty banter in between songs. There are few opening acts that can so effortlessly connect with a brand new audience, Eliza and the Delusionals is one of them. Between Klatt’s astounding vocals, Skuse’s riveting guitar riffs, and Lee’s memorable baselines, this three-piece will soon grow out of their Australian small town and grace even more stages across the globe.
