After a three-year absence, alt-rock band Defences made a powerful return to Manchester, delivering a high-energy show to an audience, that were experiencing the band live for the first time, and Defences wasted no time making a strong connection with the crowd.
Lead vocalist Cherry captivated the room not just with her outrageous vocals but also with a heartfelt message, reminding fans that the world is scary right now so they need to hold onto hope, and everything will be okay. This sentiment resonated deeply with the audience, adding a touching moment to an otherwise adrenaline-fueled set.
The band’s stage presence was electric, with constant movement and palpable energy that kept the crowd engaged from start to finish. Cherry and the rest of the group took time to interact with fans, exchanging high fives and creating a welcoming atmosphere that extended beyond the stage.
Their approachable vibe continued after the show at the merch stand, where they mingled with their fans, further cementing their reputation as genuine people.
Defences’ long-awaited return to Manchester was more than just a gig—it was a reminder of the power of live music to inspire and uplift. Here's hoping we don’t have to wait another three years for their return.
