On September 13, thousands of beabadoobee fans sold out MGM Music Hall to watch the Filipino-British musician to tour her new album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves which was released in August. The night kicked off with indie pop singer Keni Titus’ mellow set followed by a Texas-based alternative pop duo named Hovvdy.

The stripped backstage lighting and décor was symbolic of what fans could expect: a charming set comprised of fan’s favorites like “California” and “Coming Home.” For most of the show, a white sheet served as the backdrop to beabadoobee’s electric performances with her hot pink electric guitar. The set started with paying homage to her confessional love songs with a rock underbelly including “Coffee” and “Beaches.” I remained in awe of the crowds dancing along to each song and screaming each lyric on the top of their lungs.

Towards the middle of the set, tree branches projected onto the white sheet, and it often changed visuals such as spinning tides to “Take a Bite,” which has amassed over 1.9M listens. The middle of the set was stripped-back like the set and beabadoobee’s melodic and mesmerizing voice explained why fans were gasping for every note she sang. In fact, it was no surprise that the few times beabadoobee addressed the audience: she declared Boston as her favorite show of tour. She remarked, “You guys are so loud and so much fun.”

Towards the end of the show, we heard more from beabadoobee. She had the entire venue jumping on their feet to “She Plays Bass.” At another point the audience lit up the venue with their torches to “Ever Seen,” which she dedicated to her boyfriend. The fans did not miss a beat to express their love for beabadoobee by screaming, “You’re beautiful!” and “We love you.”

Beabadoobee dedicated “Glue Song” to the crowd, which is a fan favorite, and her ethereal voice was complimented with emotional fans belting every lyric without missing a beat. It is no surprise that beabadoobee ended the show with “See you Soon,” letting the crowd know that she will be back for them.

If you can, go catch beabadoobee on tour. You will leave mesmerized by her musical prowess and transported to a sentimental ambience where the love between the fans and her will leave you wanting more! It is no wonder she has played Coachella, Glastonbury, and opening for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour in the last few years.
