Almost MOnday in Detroit

Bringing the everyday energy of sunny San Diego, California to the early days of summer here in Detroit, Michigan, the trio known as Almost Monday kicked off a sold out show at Little Caesars Arena for AJR’s The Maybe Man Tour. With the amount of star power that Dawson Daugherty (vocals), Cole Clisby (guitar) and Luke Fabry (bass) possess, you’d never guess that Almost Monday was born from garage jam sessions and D.I.Y. shows.

Almost Monday effortlessly commanded the stage of the 20,000 capacity arena, proving to audience members that they have earned their spot of success. Those in Detroit were some of the first to hear their latest single, “tidal wave”, live after its official release on June 28, along with some of their fan favorites like “is it too late?”, “only wanna dance”, and “life goes by”. Supported by Clisby and Fabry, frontman Dawson Daugherty quickly shed his leather jacket – keeping his signature black sunglasses on – in order to jump from speaker to speaker, dance across the stage, and even showed off some karate-like moves while never missing a single lyric or beat. The connection these three have is unmistakable and makes for a memorable performance.

Almost Monday will continue to tour across the United States and Mexico with AJR through mid-July before spending the fall with The Driver Era in Europe and the United Kingdom. After many years of successful singles and EPs, the indie pop trio are preparing to release their debut album in late 2024. Be sure to catch a show before the year is up and check out our favorite shots from Detroit below!
