At the History venue in Toronto, 070shake delivered a complete performance of her latest album “ Petrichor”. The show started with her behind a scrim casting her shadow for the audience, while she performed a ‘Sin’ (a track from her latest album). This opening performance set the tone for the rest of the show, displaying 070shake’s ability to tap into emotional vulnerability while displaying strong and captivating vocals.
When the scrim dropped, the crowd went wild. 070shake followed her performance with “Elephant” ( a faster and more upbeat track), giving the crowd something to move to. After performing more tracks like: Pieces of You, Vagabond and Lungs, she gave a beautiful speech to the audience. She detailed that although the tour focuses on her current album, she will be performing songs from her past projects because all of her work compiled together, encompasses all of who she is.
One of my favourite moments from the performance, was when she performed ‘Guilty Conscience’. As a fan of 070shake, this was the song that turned me from a listener into a fan, and it seemed like the crowd had the same experience. As the song played, people from all over the venue shouted from the top of their lungs and danced with the people around them. It felt electric to put it simply.
Overall, if you are looking to immerse yourself in a body of work that is electric, powerful and musically in-depth, then 070shake’s discography is the place to be. With detailed visual artistry coupled with vocal talent, 070shake gives you a night to never be forgotten.
